A table that folds flat on a listing photograph may still be awkward to store with its arm, basket and mat. Plan the entire packed arrangement before buying a folding grooming table, then follow that model's sequence every time you put it away.
Finish the session before folding begins
Return the dog safely to the floor and remove loose equipment. Folding is an empty-table task. Clean the surface and accessories with compatible products, observing their drying requirements before enclosing anything in a cover or bag.
Identify which parts the manufacturer requires you to remove. An arm might need to come off, a basket might unhook, or an approved mat might store separately. Do not force the legs to close around an accessory simply because it almost fits.
Use the illustrated folding sequence
Leg braces and locks differ between models. Read the actual diagram rather than applying the release method from another table. Keep fingers clear of the identified pinch points and support the equipment as instructed while releasing the mechanism.
If a brace will not move as expected, stop and check for an obstruction or misunderstood step. More force can turn a simple setup error into damaged hardware. Missing instructions are a reason to contact the maker before continuing, not to test every visible latch at once.
Measure the packed shape
Record folded length, width and thickness with the parts arranged as directed. Compare those dimensions with the storage opening, not just the empty space behind it. A closet may have enough room inside while its doorway makes the table difficult to maneuver.

Choose a place where it cannot fall
Use the storage orientation and support arrangement specified by the manufacturer. Do not lean a heavy folded table loosely where a child or pet could knock it over. Keep it away from damp areas and household items that might damage the working surface.
Choose a storage cover that fits the packed table and suits its indoor storage conditions. Enclosing a still-damp table can conceal moisture rather than solve it. Review the cleaning and drying steps before choosing a sealed bag for long periods.
Unfolding includes an inspection
Before the next session, check for damage from handling and make sure every required lock and brace is fully engaged. Reinstall the arm and accessories in their approved positions. Look underneath rather than assuming the legs are locked because the top appears level.
Set the empty table on its intended floor and verify its floor contact. If it behaves differently after transport, resolve that before placing the dog on it. The assembly checks provide a useful reminder of what deserves attention.
For frequent storage, rehearse the handling route while the table is empty and you have appropriate help. A model that takes less space but is difficult to carry through the house may be a worse everyday choice than a slightly larger table that is easier to handle.
