Grooming Table Delivery and Returns: Check Before Ordering

Check delivery access, freight terms, damage reporting and return shipping before ordering a grooming table online.

A grooming table purchase is not complete when its top fits the dog. The packaged equipment also has to reach your room, and you need to understand what happens if it arrives damaged or proves unsuitable. Delivery and returns deserve a separate check before ordering, especially for a heavy lift table.

Confirm what “delivery” includes

Parcel service, curbside freight and inside placement are different services. Ask whether the carrier stops at the curb, driveway, threshold or intended room. Confirm any appointment requirement and whether a liftgate is included where needed. Do not assume free shipping includes carrying equipment upstairs or removing a wooden crate.

For a concrete example, Flying Pig describes direct-store FP3000A delivery as curbside motor freight with no inside delivery. An Amazon seller may have a different arrangement, so check the terms attached to the actual offer.

Measure the packaged route

Use package dimensions and weight, not only the assembled table measurements. Check entrances, tight turns and steps. Decide who will handle the package and how it will be moved safely; a wheeled table may still arrive secured inside a crate.

If unpacking outside is necessary, plan a dry, suitable location and retain the packing materials until inspection and initial checks are complete. Do not begin disassembling a lift mechanism to force it through a doorway. Resolve access with the seller before delivery.

Save the evidence before checkout

Keep the selected model, size, included parts, seller name, delivery promise and return terms. A generic “next day delivery” search result is not a commitment for your address or variant. The checkout estimate and seller’s order confirmation are the relevant documents.

Check whether the item is in stock, awaiting shipment or sold on a longer lead time. If you need it for a particular date, leave room for inspection and assembly rather than planning the first grooming session for delivery afternoon.

Inspect and report through the correct process

Follow the seller and carrier instructions for inspecting the shipment. Photograph packaging damage, identifying labels and affected parts, and document problems promptly through the designated channel. PetEdge’s delivery guidance for its equipment specifically emphasizes documenting damage before signing. Do not assume another seller uses identical procedures.

Keep the table out of service if damage could affect its structure, electrics or operation. A discount offered for cosmetic damage is not evidence that bent hardware or abnormal lift movement is safe. Ask the supplier to assess the exact issue.

Read return costs as carefully as the deadline

Determine whether opened or assembled equipment can be returned, whether authorization is required and who pays freight. Ask about packaging requirements and any stated deductions. Treat these as seller-specific questions; there is no universal return policy for every grooming table on a marketplace.

A warranty claim is a separate process, covered in our warranty guide. Once the correct table arrives intact, follow the assembly checks before use. Planning the delivery route and reading the return terms take less effort than arranging an avoidable second freight journey.
